Everyone loves the humble VW Camper Van from hippies to surfers and everyone else. It’s hard to believe that back when they first came out they were a bit odd for most people, especially in America where the big old station wagon as the king of multi seat transport. I mean they are now one of the most successful and well known used vans on the market with a dedicated scene that is probably bigger than any other single car or van in the world.
This led to a big advertising campaign by Volkswagen as they tried to crack the US and other countries, with their new range of small cars and bus like vans and campers. There is a big group on Flickr just for collecting VW adverts and in there I found some of these absolute gems.
